September 2021

Hi Everyone

Yet again we have enjoyed some beautiful weather over the last few weeks. It was also a lovely day when we met at the allotment and shared memories and stories about our loved ones and particularly those that we have lost. There is still room for a few more plants, so if you would like to plant something in memory of someone, please let me know.

Digital friends has moved to Christ the King and dates changed as we had trouble with the connection at Duke Bernard Court. Please come along if you would like to learn more about the digital world.

We had a delicious Volunteers Thank You Tea on 11th September. (See inside). Thanks to Liz and her helpers at Hampden Park Bowling Club.

We are getting very busy now with groups, but if there is something missing that you or your loved one would like to see/do, please mention it to me or a Trustee. Hope to see you all over the next few weeks.

Carol xx

‍

On 28th August members and volunteers remembered their loved ones by planting bushes/roses etc in the Memorial Bed at the  Allotment. A lovely afternoon with friends   sharing stories and making more memories. The minutes silence was quite emotional. There is still space for a couple more, so if you missed the event and would like to plant something in memory of a loved one, please let me know.

‍

Thank You

Jan Pool for setting a walking challenge and raising a fantastic  £180. Madeleine Furminger who recently donated a very welcome £100.

We held a Thank You Volunteers Tea on Saturday 11th September. It was lovely to see most of our volunteers attending. Meg put it perfectly in words when people expressed volunteer feelings of “not helping much  lately”. She explained how everyone is one little piece of the jigsaw, not doing very much on their own, but when all the pieces fit   together, great things are achieved.

So  from all the trustees and myself, thank you all for   helping in lots of different ways. Hopefully those who couldn't make it, may be able to get together with everyone at a Christmas social?
